Selling a car can mean dealing with repairs, ads, negotiations, and strangers at your door. We have a better way. Simply complete our online form and we handle the rest: complimentary vehicle pickup anywhere on O‘ahu, nearly all vehicles accepted regardless of condition (expired registration and safety checks are fine), and you get a nice tax deduction.

How To Donate Your Vehicle to Kidney Cars Hawai‘i
Start by completing the quick online donation form at KidneyCarsHawaii.org – it takes just minutes and can be done anytime. Within 48 hours, a team member will call to briefly review your vehicle's condition. Once approved, you'll provide the signed Certificate of Title (mail or drop-off, your choice). That's it!
We'll arrange complimentary tow service within 3-5 days at no cost to you. We accept both running and non-running vehicles, even those with expired registration or safety checks. After your vehicle sells at auction, you'll receive tax deduction documentation within 30 days.

Fill Out Your Vehicle Donation Form
Ready to donate? Our simple online form takes just minutes to complete and can be done from any device, anytime that's convenient for you. You'll need basic information about your vehicle including the make, model, year, and current mileage. Have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ready – you can find this 17-character code on your dashboard near the windshield on the driver's side, or on your vehicle registration and title documents.
You'll also be asked to provide your contact information, preferred pickup location, and let us know if you have the title in hand. The entire process is secure and straightforward and takes about 10 minutes.

Your Donation Truly Makes a Difference
When you donate your vehicle, the proceeds from its sale directly fund the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii's lifesaving programs and services. Your contribution supports vital education and awareness initiatives that teach Hawai‘i residents about kidney health, risk factors, and the importance of early detection and prevention.
Funds also support community outreach programs, free screening events, and patient advocacy efforts that influence healthcare policy and improve access to care for kidney disease patients throughout the Islands. Plus, your donation helps provide direct patient assistance, including transportation support for medical appointments and emergency financial aid for Island families facing the challenges of kidney disease.
Your Tax Deduction
Every vehicle donated to Kidney Cars Hawai‘i – regardless of condition – qualifies for a minimum $500 tax deduction. This means even if your vehicle is non-running, damaged, isn’t registered, or sells for less than $500 at auction, you can still claim up to $500 in fair market value on your tax return.
For vehicles that sell for more than $500, your deduction equals the actual gross sale price. After your donation, your vehicle will be prepared and sold at auction, a process that typically takes 30-60 days or more depending on vehicle condition and market conditions. Within 30 days of the sale, you'll receive official tax documentation (Form 1098-C) by mail stating the exact sale price and your eligible deduction amount.
Remember, tax deductions only benefit donors who itemize deductions on their federal tax returns rather than taking the standard deduction.
